NATIONAL CONGRESS & CONVENTION OF HAITIAN-AMERICANS
National Congress & Convention of Haitian-American

The Annual National Congress & Convention of Haitian-Americans is a partnership between two of the most influential Haitian oriented organizations in the United States, The Haitian League and the Haitian-American Leadership Council and in collaboration with a myriad of organizations.

The Haitian League is a non-governmental organization incorporated in the State of New Jersey, with status as a 501(c)3 federally tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation, having affiliated chapters and Affiliates in states with significant Haitian population and a national-level chapter in Haiti. The League’s portfolio of projects includes “Lakou-USA” community centers In US, and “Lakou-Haiti” education and job-training centers in Haiti in collaboration with “Petits Freres & Petites Soeurs de L’ Incarnation”.

Under the diligent leadership of Dr. Bernier Lauredan, THL has raised the bar in bringing Haiti and Haitian American issues from the community level to as far as the White House and is working hard to link fledging Haitian organizations in the Diaspora into one voice.

As to Haiti’s 200 years of underdevelopment, the League has partnered with “Petits Freres & Petites Soeurs de L’ Incarnation” that, under the leadership of the determined Frere Armand Francklin, has transformed a desolate region of Haiti into vibrant community with reforestation, lakes, new housing, fisheries, agriculture, and primary, elementary, secondary and vocational education. Together the two entities aim at transplanting the Pandiassou experience to other Haiti departments to starve off illiteracy, poverty, hunger, deforestation and minimize the repeated devastating effect of natural disasters

The Haitian League and its members look forward to welcoming you to the First Annual congress and Convention of Haitian Americans.

Haitian-American Leadership Council (HALEC) is an independent, 501c4 political organization founded in November 2003. HALEC primary objective is to unify and empower the Haitian community in the United States under a collective umbrella that reflects our needs as a community.

HALEC and its members also look forward to welcoming you to the New Jersey for The First Annual congress and Convention of Haitian Americans.
